This class is all about chopping, mincing, slicing, dicing and chiffonading our way into a vast array of bright, new, vibrant sushi rolls! I know you’re all looking at the white pink rolls wondering what that is. Come along to find out! 😄😉
Sushi (and rolls in general) are a perfect, colourful, nutrient packed meal that can make a wonderful snack, lunch or even dinner. They’re perfect as a meal starter but can also be a meal in themselves, when prepared accordingly. Sushi and veggie rolls are incredibly versatile, can be made with almost anything in the fridge or pantry and adapted to any season and weather, hot or cold, sunny or rainy.
During this class, we will explore the tremendous versatility of vegetables, new textures, tastes, preparation methods that can supercharge our diets with more vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, colors and flavors. We will make a not-so-traditional rice, and another not-so-traditional pink rice, plus a nutrient-loaded turmeric rice! We will do a bit of pickling! And a quick cashew ‘mayo’.

Who’s with me?! ☺️☀️ This Nourishing Noodles class is 1 of 3 available and it’s all about breathing new life into our culinary routine, becoming more creative home cooks and being less reliant on processed noodles and pasta.
I think noodles are a perfect versatile, quick (weekday) meal, perfect for any season and any time of the day. During this class, we will broaden our understanding of what noodles are and can be. We will explore the wonderful ways veggies can become the main attraction in a noodle bowl, rather than an accompaniment to wheat based meals. We will look at their different textures, tastes and preparation methods. We will focus on one noodle type of dishes, pairing each noodle type with its perfect sauce or dressing, and we will also create mixed noodle dishes such as Pad Thai or the Super Noodle Bowl.
